St. Petersburg History Merchant Ignatius Tuzov's house
Merchant Ignatius Tuzov's house. It appears that no house on Marata Street has that many owners' monograms like this one - "IT", "I.T.", "I.T.L." All of these mean merchant Ignatius Tuzov, the house was built by his order.
Tuzov only sold books of spiritual content and half of his goods were published by himself.
The irony: Ignatius publishhed religious literature and in 1920s the "Christian Science" American scientism sect settled a community in his house.
