We invite you on a tour of the St. Petersburg Metro (one of the deepest in the world), during which you will admire the refined interiors of the stations, find out what topics they are devoted to and the history of their creation. You will learn not only legends, but also reliable facts. You will be able to get acquainted with the technique of mosaic panels and station decors, learn how the metro was created and difficulties druring construction. In the 18th century, the ladder was called the Ambassadorial, then it was named Jordan, as during the Epiphany celebration the Tsar descended this staircase for the ceremony of the "Blessing of the Waters" of the Neva River, a celebration of Christ's baptism in the Jordan River.
The Armorial Hall was intended for celebrations. It is illuminated by massive chandeliers with images of the coats of arms of Russian cities.
This spacious hall is dedicated to the memory of Alexander the First. 24 medallions are placed on the walls of the Alexander Hall telling about the important stages of the Patriotic War.
St. George's Hall is the main hall in the Winter Palace, where all the official ceremonies of the Russian Imperial House took place.
